At Vauxhall School teachers integrate physical education into their everyday programme.  We also bring in a wide range of instructors to help provide sporting opportunities and experiences for our children. Over the last few years, we have had instructors teach the children skills in football, tennis, volleyball, squash, golf and gymnastics.

Vauxhall School competes in a number of within and interschool sports competitions including swimming, cross country and athletics.

Rippa Rugby

Vauxhall School enters a number of teams into the Harbour Rugby Primary Schools Tournament - which is held over 3 different school days in Term 2 and Term 3.

The organisation for this takes place towards the end of Term 1 - and once teams are put together they remain the same for the year.

Our heated school pool is open for swimming lessons in term 1 and the end of term 4. Teachers receive swimming instruction professional development every few years to keep up to date with swimming instruction techniques. Up to fifty school families can also rent an after hours and summer holiday pool access code from the office from term 4.

Waterwise is organised for all Year 6 pupils. The programme involves water safety and confidence in and on the water using buoyancy aids, kayaks, Optimist sailing dinghies and bodyboards. Living close to the sea makes this a very valuable as well as an exciting programme. We are run waterwise in Terms 1 and 4 each Tuesdays at Narrowneck Beach with two or three sessions depending on numbers.

We have a great team of trained parent instructors as well as general parent helpers at each session.  We welcome interest from new parents to join the support team. Without this parent help we would not be able to continue to offer waterwise. You are also most welcome to attend the sessions and see how worthwhile the programme is.
